Laputa Necklace

A simpler project, but the Laputa necklace is a nice combination of a few different techniques to help bring this iconic Miyazaki item to life. This was first sculpted and then molded and then cast with smooth cast 325, so-strong pigments, and cryptolite UV additive. The shape was then refined with sanding and then polished and sprayed with a clear coat. The super bright led was then counter sunk in to the resin cast and the wire is hidden in the lace, along with the small, li-pol battery. The magnetic clasp not only secures it to the neck but also acts as the power switch for the led glow.
